Poem:
206 Bones in the Body
206 That’s all there is
206 Bones in the Body
And if you sing it right
They sound like this….
The skull is the cranium, right on top
Immovable joint and not a soft spot
Scapula the shoulder blade, a real flat bone
Sternum’s in the center and protects the heart alone
Clavicle the collarbone, fractures all the time…
Radius and ulna are above the wrist…
Phalanges, you’ll find, are in the hands and feet…
The tibia’s the shin and the fibula - you’ll see
Is in the lower leg, just under the knee
Tarsal’s in the ankles, right near the toes
And metatarsals in the foot’s as far as we goes!
Song:
22 bones under my hair
14 bones make up my face
A craniul bone surrounding empty space
No that’s not a right
Then protecting my brain
Now where was I? let’s start again
3 ocycles in each ear
The hyoid bone is in my throat
Who knew that? Let’s make a note
26 vertebrae in my spine
24 ribs in this chest of mine
The sternum keeps them all apart
Their protecting my lungs and my heart
Two bones in my shoulder front and back
3 in each arm the muscles I lack
8 carpals to make up each of my rists
5 medicarpals per palm ads to our list
28 flanges in my fingers and thumbs
44 bones already still not done
One pelvis is a hip
One femur’s a thigh
Two petals are kneecaps
Myo my
Tibia fibula in each shin
Tibia’s fat and fibula’s thin
Each ankle has 7 tarsal bones
Twist them sprain them here them groans
10 metatarsals in the balls of my feet
28 flanges in my toes
That’s so neat
How many bones is that you ask?
Well add them up and complete the task
Two hundred and six
206 Bones in the Body
206 That’s all there is
206 Bones in the Body
And if you sing it right
